In addition to the 3-pack ad changes, there is one other Google change that is impacting all of the search results. Have you noticed a change in the Google ad results that show up when you do an online search? Previously, the ad labels were yellow, but recently these ad labels have changed to green. This change appears to be global, impacting ad results around the world.
When you look at the ad results, you will see that the label next to the ad search results has a green “Ad” label to match the green URL link. This change was rolled out in phases, so if you haven’t viewed the changes yet, you can anticipate to see them soon.
Regarding the change, a Google spokesperson said: “We regularly test ways to improve the look and feel of our search results page. We’ve been experimenting with a green search ad label and have decided to roll it out based on positive feedback from users and advertisers. Our goal is to make our results page easy to use, and our labeling clear and prominent.”
These changes are impacting both desktop searches and mobile results. According to Google, there has been no change in the CTRs of either the AdWords ads or the organic listings as a result of the color change. It appears that the changes were made for aesthetic reasons.
