Use Google’s Free Tool to Market Your Great Reviews

You’re working hard to get great Google reviews—why not make the most of them? Google’s user-friendly (and free!) tool makes it easy to create marketing materials.

We don’t have to remind you how important reviews are for attracting both preneed and at-need clientele to your funeral home, right?

You already know that 92 percent of consumers will use a business if it has at least a four-star rating. And you know that 72 percent of consumers say positive reviews make them trust a business more.

But did you know that Google makes it incredibly easy to promote your superior reviews with its own included (and entirely free) tool?

It’s part of an initiative called Small Thanks with Google, and it lets you create social media images and videos—along with offline marketing materials—to showcase your best reviews.

To participate, you first need to be sure you’re signed up with Google My Business—which is a requirement to generate Google reviews in the first place, so we hope you’ve checked off that box already.

Then you want to be sure you have lots of four-star and (even better) five-star reviews—preferably ones that are detailed and well written, and also have no spelling errors.

That’s because Google will automatically harvest the reviews for your marketing materials—you won’t be able to choose the review quotes or edit them.

Once you’ve activated Small Thanks, Google will provide examples of materials created from your reviews. You can choose different colors and layouts to your liking.

After that, you just have to download the materials, and you’re ready to start promoting your business.

You can share the electronic materials on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. (Google+ is also an option, of course. It can’t hurt to also share there, but it honestly has very little reach.)

For offline marketing, you can print out the materials to create signs, posters, stickers, etc.

Additionally, you can also create materials that encourage clientele to review you, so take advantage of that option as well.
